A local jail passes an important inspection!
Effingham county Sheriff Dave Mahon said the Illinois Department of Corrections inspected the jail in August and found no deficiencies.
Officials said it's mandatory all Illinois county jails get evaluated every year.
Sheriff Mahon said he's proud of the job the jail staff does every day.
In fact, the Illinois Department of corrections said they've received several letters from detainees commenting on the cleanliness of the facility.
