Autopy Reveals Champaign Teen Died From Natural Causes

Autopsy results are released in the death of a 15-year-old from Champaign.

Police say on March 11th, officers responded to the Carle Hospital Emergency department after a report 15-year-old Luke Miller was receiving treatment for a serious medical condition.

They say Miller was transferred to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where he died.

Investigators with the St. Louis City Medical Examiner's office says Miller apparently suffered from a previously undiagnosed medical condition that progressed rapidly and lead to his death on March 11th.

The medical examiner's office says there's no evidence to suggest Miller was the victim of a violent crime.

Officials say the autopsy did not reveal the presence of any trauma or injury consistent with being attacked or beaten.

Champaign Police department officials say detectives also investigated the theory Miller may have been the victim of bullying, but say those allegations are unfounded.

Detectives interviewed friends, family, students and administrators at Centennial High School and reviewed video footage of Miller going to and from his classes.

They say the criminal investigation did not reveal bullying or battery as a contributing factor or result of his death.

Miller's family has asked for privacy during this time.
