For the high school softball teams the end of the regular season is near, and a chance to clinch a conference title is on the line.
Tomorrow morning, the Charleston Trojans will host a double header against rival Mt. Zion.
Mt. Zion is third in the Apollo conference at six-and-two, which doesn't give the number one Trojans ANY wiggle room for mistakes.
CHS will need to win both games for a shot at the Apollo championship.
But, the Mattoon Green Wave COULD get in the way, as they play host Tuesday in a double-header against Taylorville.
MHS sits in the Apollo's number two spot and will also need back-to-back wins for a share of the conference title.
Teams hit the field Tuesday afternoon at 4:30.
