Wednesday, 19 April 2017

The city of Effingham is closer to getting a new police station.

Last night the city council approved advertising bids for the new facility.

City building official Michelle Wilkins said the bids will go out April 20th with an opening date of May 23rd.

Wilkins said several city officials including the engineering department, city administrator and FGM Architects will review the bids.

Construction of the facility is set to start around July 5th and will feature more interview, patrol and investigation rooms.
