The last time a property tax Reassessment was done on commercial and industrial businesses in Coles County was in 2001. Supervisor of Assessment Karen Biddle launched the project shortly after taking office and says it was long overdue. Several business owners are not happy about the reassessment. Several people who attended the meeting also questioned the qualifications of the property appraiser Bob Becker. Biddle defended Becker saying he finished all course work related to his position and is qualified to be part of the reassessment.
