Charleston Referendum

Coles County residents have the chance to vote for a sales tax referendum on the November 8th election ballot. The Charleston school district is in need of money to help pay for renovations and upgrades the school needs. The tax increase would not only come from Coles County residents but also from those who visit, said Superintendent Jim Littleford. If the referendum is passed Littleford said it would generate more than $2 million annually.
