The Mattoon Police Department is investigating an alleged shooting. Officers were dispatched on August 28, 2016 around 6:17 P.M. to 1005 N. 12th Street and found Raymond Eugene Wines who appeared to have been suffering from a gunshot wound. Wines is recovering at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and is in stable condition. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Mattoon Police Department.
