In Major League Baseball, the Cubs accolades continue, with Joe Maddon winning the Manager of the Year Award.

Maddon guided the Cubs to a 97 and 65 record and a berth in the National League Championship Series, one year after Chicago finished 16 games below .500.

Maddon also won the award in the American League with Tampa Bay in 2009 and 2011.

The Cubs' rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals, had their own candidate.

Mike Matheny came in second, with 9 first place votes to Maddon's 18.
