Charleston Man Accused of Attempted Murder

A Charleston man is facing attempted murder charges.

Police say on July 22nd, they were called to the 200 block of 5th Street for a domestic situation.

They say when they arrived on scene, they were met by a female suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police say the victim was bleeding from the head, face and hands.

They say she had been cut with a pair of scissors.

Authorities arrested 55-year-old Kim Brant.

He's facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery.

Brant remains in jail.

The victim was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System and treated for injuries.
