Mattoon Green Wave soccer earned a big win against their cross-town rival Charleston, beating the Trojans 2-1.
8-2-1 heading into yesterday's game, Charleston managed to put up 17 shots on goal, only to have 16 of them stopped by the Green Wave.
Mattoon improves to 4-8-1 on the year, not hitting the field again until Tuesday, when they play Salem.
Charleston gets to jump back into it tomorrow against MacArthur High School.
