Canine Flu

Monday, 20 April 2015

The flu virus is now an issue for four-legged friends in the Midwest. Vets say the virus is spreading and your canines could be at risk. Influenza outbreaks aren't as common in dogs as they are in humans; and veterinarians say the outbreaks usually only impact a few dozen canines. And they say vaccinations do not prevent it since this strand of the virus originated in Asia. Officials warn that the epidemic may get worse because of how easily the virus spreads. News Watch's Jesse Guinn has the story.
