Decatur Zoo Reward

Friday, 29 March 2013

A Decatur business owner is offering a reward out of his own pocket with the hope of preventing further crime in his city.

Authorites say copper tube and wire were taken from the Ralph Rosser memorial fountain in front of the Scovill Zoo in Decatur earlier this month.

Perry Lewin owns Decatur Pawn and Jewelry.

He says it really struck a cord with him when he heard about the crime, and he's more than willing to match the previous reward offered by the Park District of $500.

Lewin says he hopes that his actions will prompt other business owners to step up with him to put a stop to crime in Decatur.
