Terre Haute Shooting

Friday, 27 March 2015

Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt says a fatal police-action shooting in Terre Haute was justified and he won't pursue charges in that case.

Terry Modesitt reached his decision earlier today after reviewing an Indiana State Police report on the fatal February 25th shooting of 31-year-old Alexander Long.

Authorities say Long was wanted on a warrant for charges of rape, criminal confinement and domestic battery when he led police on a car chase.

Police say Long rammed his car into police cars and ignored officers' commands.

A Terre Haute officer fatally shot him after Long made a threatening move by reaching inside his jacket.
