EIU Women Take on U of I in WNIT

The Eastern Illinois Women's basketball team lost in Monday night's game against the University of Illinois in the second round of the WNIT. THe Panthers controlled the first half of the game leadiing for the first 13 minutes of the game. Senior Forward had 12 rebounds ahead of the margin 44-33 over the Illini. The Panthers were up 3 points going into halftime, but could not handle the Fighting Illini's defense halfway through the second half. EIU committed over 20 turnovers converting into 18 points as both teams shot under 40%. The Women end their season going 20-12. Mariah King had 23 points and Ta'Kenya Nixon finished with 17 points. Illinois advances to play Toledo, Thursday for the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
