After almost a year of searching, Eastern Illinois University has selected its next president. The university announced their new president-elect at its board of trustees meeting earlier this afternoon. EIU's president election committee announced today, David Glassman will be the school's next president. Glassman will be Eastern's 12th president since it's establishment in 1895. EIU's search for a new president started when William Perry announced he would complete his service in June. Perry started serving as EIU president in 2007. Glassman will take office June 1st. His contract runs for 5-years ... ending in 2020. Glassman's contract includes a base salary of $290,000 dollars along with a housing allowance of $32,000 per year.
