Officials say visiting an inmate is an inconvenient process. The Coles County sheriff's department is hoping to change that! A new technology is being implemented that will increase visitation hours, and even make it possible for inmates to visit with family members remotely. Tillis says us the technology is currently being installed in all cells. She says that will allow inmates to conduct the visits with out being transported. She tells us the jail plans to have everything up and running by April 1st.
