Quinn Wants Concealed Carry Ban to Supreme Court

Wednesday, 13 March 2013

Governor Pat Quinn says the only way to keep this law, is to head to the Supreme Court.

Illinois is the only state in the union with a ban on concealed carry.

In December, a federal court ruled the ban unconstitutional and told Illinois lawmakers they have until June 8th to create concealed carry legislation.

Instead, Quinn wants the state attorney general to appeal the ruling, moving the case to the Supreme Court.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan told reporters today she wants to wait and see what lawmakers will do before considering an appeal.
