Wednesday night the Charleston School board voted to fire Brian Halsey after 15 seasons as the Trojans head coach.
Athletic Director Jim Wood wouldn't comment on a reason for Halsey's firing.
He will remain as a social studies teacher at the school.
As the head football coach Halsey earned a 75 and 75 record with the team, however the last two seasons have been a struggle only posting two wins total.
Halsey's squads made the post season seven times, with the teams best run in 2011 when they lost to Rochester in the semifinal game.
Rochester would eventually go on to win the state championship that season.
