Landon Weaver Vigil

"I've seen child abuse. And for someone not to do anything about it it's not right. We have to do something to help the kids. Kids can't help themselves. And when Landon passed away it just struck a nerve." Comstock and nearly a hundred others were together last night to show Landon Weaver's family they have a lot of support as they handle the loss ... of a life gone too soon. Reverend Mike Dixon with the First Christian Church Disciples in Paris says the turn out is something the family needs in this difficult time. "It shows the kind of community we have. That when there's a need, we come together. A lot of the people here were aquatinted. But many were not. And they came to just be in support." Reverend Dixon says he was asked by organizers of the event to speak at the vigil so he could spread the message ... now is the time to mourn ... not just Landon ... but all victims of child abuse. "I wanted to share that this is not a time for anger. This is not a time for blame. This is a time for us to come together and to be one as community." And Comstock tells me the gathering was a reminder for all victims they're not alone ... and says people need to be more proactive. "It's about time for people to get together and start thinking about this. And paying more attention to it. If you see it say something. Do something. Don't just turn your head and walk away and say I can't get involved. Because the next day that child could be dead."
