The Chicago Cubs annouced Rick Renteria is out as the manger of the Cubs and Joe Maddon, former Tampa Bay Rays manager, is his replacement.
Maddon recently became a free-agent this offseason after nine seasons as the Rays' skipper.
Renteria led Chicago to a seven win improvement from last year, finishing 73-89 in his only season as the club's manager.
This will be the third managerial change in the last three years for the Cubs.
