Student athletes at Eastern Illinois University are more likely to graduate than the average college athlete, according to a report by the NCAA.
Eastern's graduation success rate, which measures the percentage of student athletes who earn a degree in the timeframe of the study, in this case was the 2004-2007 entering classes.
Based on those numbers, the success rate for EIU is 86 percent overall, higher than the national Division One average of 81 percent.
For football it is 84 percent and for men's basketball it is 93 percent, significantly higher than the national averages across all divisions.
