One person dies in a four car crash in Coles County.
Mattoon police say Saturday night they were called to the intersection at Route 16 and Lerna Road.
They say 25-year-old Michael Fogarty of Chicago was driving too fast west on 16 when he failed reduce speed and ran into a vehicle driven by Rosemary Ryan.
Police say Ryan's car ran into two others.
Nine people were injured.
Authorities say 40-year-old Amy Thomas of Springfield Illinois died in the crash.
Fogarty was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, failing to reduce speed, no seat belt, and driving under the influence.
