Mattoon Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Child

A Mattoon man is in jail accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Police say 34-year-old Robert Price was arrested Wednesday evening. They say the arrest happened in the 3000 block of Shelby Avenue.

Price is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a class X felony. If convicted, he faces six to 30 years in prison.

Authorities say Price committed sex acts on a child and photographed naked children for purposes of sexual gratification.

He remains in the Coles County Jail.
