Parkland College Cuts

Thursday, 20 February 2014

A local college is looking to make cuts.

Parkland officials say declining state and property tax revenue is forcing the school to make more than a $1 million in cuts in the coming year.

Administrators say ideas include cutting back overtime for employees reducing student worker hours and limited focus on landscaping needs.

At this time the college says no staff cuts are scheduled.

To make up some of the revenue Parkland plans to increase tuition next year.
