After a school year of classroom instruction some local students had a chance to do some learning outside. The annual D.A.R.E. picnic was held at Forest Park in Shelbyville and included a variety of activities. The kids in attendance completed the twelve week program designed to help them avoid drugs and alcohol. News Watch's Maggie Hockenberry went to the park to join in on the celebration. The picnic also included exhibits from local organizations and law enforcement agencies. More than five hundred students attended. The picnic is an annual event.
