Charleston Daycare Owner will Stand Trial in September

Thursday, 10 April 2014

A Charleston daycare owner accused of aggravated battery to a child is out of jail.

In February, police were called to Treasured Tots daycare because a child was unresponsive.

42-year-old Patricia Brant told authorities she left 22-month-old Pierson Eaker in a playpen, went to the bathroom and returned to find him on the ground gasping for air.

Brant has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Her jury trial is set for September 8th.

Earlier this month, Brant's bond was modified allowing her to be on home confinement until her trial.

Piersen is still recovering at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital in Missouri.
