A Charleston man accused of murder will appear in court for the first time Monday.
52-year-old Larry Steeples is charged with killing Gina Giberson.
Authorities say Giberson was shot multiple times by Steeples in her home earlier this week.
Coles County State's Attorney Brian Bower says the two had an on- again, off-again relationship and that Steeples was facing domestic abuse charges at the time of the shooting.
Bower says if convicted, Steeples could face life in prison.
No public service for Giberson is planned.
