Edgar Co. Airport Manager Resigns

Wednesday, 11 December 2013

A local airport manager resigns.

This morning the Edgar County Board recieved a letter and approved the resignation of Jimmy Wells as the Edgar County airport manager.

Board member Dan Bruner says Wells did not give a reason for his departure, but the airport has been the center of two recent situations: one involving an arson investigation, and the other was a plane crash.

Rusty Bogue, 33, was piloting a plane when he crashed about a mile from the Edgar County Airport last August.

Then last month two planes were vandalized and set on fire.

Earlier this afternoon the board appointed Dale Barkley as the temporary airport manager.

Barkley's been a pilot for 50 years.
