Christopher Oliver Acquitted

Monday, 4 February 2013

A former Charleston group home worker is acquitted of murder.

The jury reached that decision in the case of Christopher Oliver on Friday.

Oliver was facing charges after the 2008 beating of former Graywood Foundation resident Dustin Higgins.

He was also charged with criminal neglect of a disabled person, but the jury was hung on that verdict.

Two other men were involved with the death of Higgins.

Daniel Clark is currently serving a ten year sentence for involuntary manslaughter and criminal neglect of a person with disabilities.

James Wynn pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and served 180 days in jail.

Oliver returns to court March 15th for a status hearing.
