Eastern Illinois University has a new member to the Panther family.

EIU has hired Erin Howarth as the new head coach of women's cross country.

Howarth will also work with middle distance and long distance runners for the EIU track team.

Howarth has a long history of coaching, including guiding New Mexico's cross country program as an assistant coach to the Mountain West Conference Championship.
