New details from behind court doors in the case of a Tolono murder.

Wednesday afternoon, 42-year-old Brian Maggio was arrested for shooting his 32-year-old brother Mark Maggio in front of their family owned grocery store.

Champaign County Sheriff's Deputies say around noon on Wednesday, dispatch got a call from someone saying someone was shot at the IGA food store in Tolono.

Thursday, during Brian Maggio's arraignment, officials say that call actually came from the defendant himself.

Maggio who was not physically present in court Thursday, but through video conferencing was charged with four counts of first degree murder.

Officials say they are continuing to investigate.

Maggios preliminary hearing is set for August 17th and his pre-trial will follow August 24th.

Officials say autopsy results show Mark Maggio died of a single gun shot wound that entered through his right shoulder.

Officials say Maggio will be appointed a public offender for now as his financial situation is unclear.

News Watch attempted to speak with the Maggio family, but they declined to comment on the case.
