Produced by Manniversary Media and sponsored by Oasis Homes USA Song Stage provides viewers and music lovers an opportunity to experience true original music performed by the artists who wrote it. Song Stage Illinois airs weekly in 30 minute episodes for 6 weeks with a full hour finale in week 7. Fans can visit www.songstage.tv for more information on the show and the artists of Season One. Also at facebook.com/songstage and #sharethestage. Song Stage, Illinois, puts a different twist on typical vocal competition programs like ?American Idol? and ?The Voice.? By placing two undiscovered singer/songwriters toe to toe for the chance to be crowned champion, the artists have one shot to deliver their best performance AND their best original song if they want to win.

After reviewing hundreds of submissions throughout Illinois, only 8 were selected to compete. Once chosen, the match ups were kept secret. Leading up to their performance, the artists do not know who, or even what style of music they will be competing against. Each episode takes the artist and the viewer through a musical journey. To start, the artist chooses one original song that will be performed in front of a live audience. Before they are ready to take the stage, their songs are professionally polished in the studio with the help of music coach Roy Wells. Not only is the viewer able to experience the musical process but they are also a part of the story behind the music, through background vignettes and interviews. Once on stage, the battle begins. And who wins? Well, that depends entirely on the live audience vote. After watching both performances the live audience, through a real-time text to vote, selects which artist, and which song, they think was best. The votes are tallied, the winner is announced, and the artist advances to the next round.
