Governor Pat Quinn wants to put 50 million dollars towards the state's scholarship program.

The governor says to pay for it,  he'll close facilities and make cuts in other areas.

The state's Monetary Assistance Program gives grants to Illinois residents attending in-state colleges and universities.

MAP grants currently help 150,000 students pay for college.
