The Writers Contest is an outreach initiative for children in kindergarten through third grade. The goal is to encourage creativity, writing and literacy skills. Entrants can write and illustrate their own story, submit it to WEIU for local judging, and, if chosen a first-place winner, have it sent on to the national contest!

Stories must be postmarked by Friday, March 23, 2012!

Now You Can Submit Online!

In addition to mailing in your story, you can now alternately submit it digitally using a tool developed by our contest sponsor, StudentPublishing.com. This new upload tool is easy to use and allows you to receive a FREE animated copy of your story that can be shared with friends and family. The tool also allows you to purchase hardback copies of your story, which make great family keepsakes and help support the funding of the contest.
