Derek Dunn

Major: Mass Communications

Hometown: Fairfield, Ill.

Years at Hit-Mix: 1 year

Why did you choose your major: It's a good fit and prior to coming to EIU last year, I had obtained nearly five years of radio broadcasting.

What is your favorite part of working at Hit-Mix: Gaining experience that will help increase my chances of finding a full-time job in radio broadcasting along with helping my bosses and co-workers out in any way.

Hobbies: Eating, sports, video games, and hanging out.

Interesting fact about yourself: I can emit a sound that is like a mix between a dolphin and a chipmunk.

Favorite song/artist: "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East and "Jet Airliner" by The Steve Miller Band.

Best Memory at EIU: Co-hosting the Morning Show with Rob in the summer of 2013. I selected, "What's My Line?" as one of our Name That TV Tune contets. Thought it was all instrumental, until the announcer says toward the very end, "It's now time to play, What's My Line?!" All of it was broadcast live and we laughed for like ten minutes. Rob told me later on it was one of the funniest morning show segments ever at Hit -Mix. I still think of that day and chuckle when I think of it.
